Mercury Theatre Company is grateful for the generous support that its dedicated donors contribute each year. Your support ensures our ability to present a season of reinvented and premiere musicals at an unbeatable low-ticket price, in addition to continuing the My First Musical program for children under the age of twelve and their parents, who may be faced with economic hardship. The program provides participants free admission to each show and educational materials.

As a not-for-profit, community-supported stock theatre committed to serving the artistic and cultural needs of the Greater Cleveland area, we rely on individual donations to keep Mercury Theatre Company successful. None of our work would be possible without your support. Ticket sales cover only 40% of what it costs to run the theatre, the rest comes from the generosity of supporters like you.  If you can, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution. Be a part of something special!

If you would like to join the Mercury family as a donor, please contact Brian Marshall, Managing Director, at or 216.771.5862.  Thank you for choosing to make a tax-deductible contribution to Mercury Theatre Company.

The Mercury Endowment

Looking Toward Our Second Century

Part of the reason Mercury has been around for nearly two decades is that fiscal responsibility is equally as important to us as presenting the very best musical theatre possible. We realize that the rising costs of producing shows could soon get in the way of other important goals: keeping tickets reasonably priced in addition to continuing the My First Musical program for children under the age of twelve and their parents, who may be faced with economic hardship. To balance our artistic standards with our desire to remain fiscally healthy, we have established Mercury Endowment. We hope you will make an investment in Mercury’s future with a gift to The Mercury Endowment.

A Unique Way to Make an Impact at Mercury!

In these difficult economic times, it’s understandable that not everyone can make an outright gift of cash. Every little bit helps make a difference, and offsets Mercury’s operating costs.

You can have these items shipped to Mercury’s Office at 3635 Perkins Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114 or hand-deliver them to Mercury so we can thank you in person! We will send you a letter acknowledging your donation for your tax records. All gifts in-kind are fully tax-deductible at the fair market value of the item.

Don’t know what to donate?

If you are interested in learning more about what in-kind gifts can be accepted, please contact Mercury at 216.771.5862 or Due to limited storage space, not all items can be accepted, so please contact Mercury if you are considering donating any item.

The My First Musical program is a ticket subsidy program dedicated to give underserved children from the school districts surrounding the Greater Cleveland community an opportunity to experience their first musical theatre show at no cost. The program, which includes admission to an unabridged performance of each show in the Mercury season, as well as educational and artistic interaction opportunities, will provide the initial theatre exposure a child needs to foster an interest and passion in the theatre arts for life. My First Musical was born in 2009 and, during the first 9 years, made over 20,664 complimentary tickets available.

Based on My First Musical’s proven track record of success, we believe this program is helping to attract and retain new audiences who are young, diverse, and nontraditional—continuing to build the next generation of theatre goers. Making Mercury Theatre Company accessible to all will allow a home for audiences of all backgrounds, creating a truly diverse and vital community in the heart of Greater Cleveland.

With the help of Ohio Arts Council and the Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, Mercury Theatre Company has committed to making our productions affordable. The support of OAC and CAC Foundations provides half of the funding to make the My First Musical program a reality, and we rely on the generosity of donations from foundations, corporations, and individuals to fully support this groundbreaking program.
